Pokémon Center Skytree Town Opens in Tokyo Solamachi

Some things truly never get old, and especially timeless game franchises like the Pokémon series. Fans of the creature-catching adventure received another exciting add-on to the franchise last year in 2016, in the form of another Pokémon Center, which is known as Pokémon Center, Skytree Town.

This Pokémon megastore was built in Tokyo, as an addition to the Tokyo Solamachi, a Japanese shopping mall that has more than 300 stores, and is at the base of the Skytree Tower, the tallest building in Japan.

How is it different from the other Pokémon stores, you ask?

Well, first is the exclusive merchandise, like limited edition Pokémon plushes and Pikachu keychains with him dressed in a Rayquaza poncho.

The second attraction is the store logo, which features a tree that reaches the sky along with the iconic Pokémon Rayquaza who’s depicted to inhabit the heavens.

The store is located on the 5th floor of the Solamachi with the entrance featuring a giant Pikachu and Rayquaza welcoming customers.

Whether your die-hard or just a casual fan Skytree Town is definitely a must see. This will be the first time a city is home to two Pokémon megastores, as there is already a Pokémon Center in Ikebukuro.

So if you’re planning a trip to Tokyo, be sure to visit this heaven on Earth for fans of the franchise!
